Shiatsu is a Japanese word literally translated as finger pressure. It developed in Japan, under the strong influence of Chinese medicine traditions.
We work the same "meridians" (lines of energy) and points as acupuncturists, but with our hands (and sometimes with gentle elbows or knees) instead of needles. Through this, receivers of shiatsu hopefully move toward greater physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
